Community and Legacy

Giving Back

Victor’s commitment to community is visible through both structured initiatives and quiet personal interventions :

The foundation also  sponsors the Mazi Ike Okoronkwo’s Peace Cup,a football competition that unites youths from different communities, using sport as a platform to promote peace, discipline and leadership.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family funded face masks, hand-washing stations, sanitizers and food support in their community, helping residents cope with both health and economic pressure.

Every year, Lady Ann Okoronkwo leads an end-of-year outreach for women, providing food items, clothing, cash assistance  and basic  business  support

another expression of their shared belief in lifting others as they rise.

Government Secondary School, Owerri: A Lifelong Bond

Victor maintains a deep connection with his alma mater, Government Secondary School, Owerri. He serves as Class Captain of the 1973A set, a role his classmates jokingly refuse to let him retire from.

Under his leadership and that of his classmates:

  • They have sponsored football competitions, academic prizes, and infrastructure projects such as street lighting and water systems for the school.
  • They organised the school’s first-ever career seminar, bringing professors and professionals from various fields to mentor current students.

Arochukwu, Ugwu Aro & Cultural Stewardship

Victor hails from Arochukwu in Abia State, where he holds the traditional title of Ugwu Aro, one of the highest honours for an Aro man-bestowed in recognition of character, service and contributions to the community.(Notable Aros)

Beyond personal philanthropy, he has supported cultural and infrastructural projects in Arochukwu, including work on the Eze Aro palace and community facilities, reinforcing his belief that leadership must be anchored in service and identity.(new.aronewsonline.com) He often recalls an Aro saying:

“Nwarµ ich9, agwa ka ego” – for the typical Aro man, character is greater than wealth.

For him, this is not just a proverb; it is a guiding principle that connects his corporate life, traditional role and personal conduct.
